Barry A. Jones Barry A. Jones, (82) (born 07-23-41), went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 17, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at the Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther O. and Jeanne Mort Jones and sister, Linda. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of (64) years, Allie S. Jones; son, Clint; daughter, Laura (Luke) Scott and Steve (Karen) Jones; (4) grandchildren, Miranda J. Osborne, Raquel (Caleb) Johnston, Andy Spitzer and Sara A. Jones; (4) great-grandchildren, Noah, Haleigh, Lucas and Judah Johnston; Brother, Ronald C. (Muriel) Jones; sisters, Sherry J. Humphreys, Dixie (Lewis) Sloss, and Candy (Charlie) Sloss. Barry was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather - his family were very important to him, and he was very proud of each of them! Barry loved to hunt, especially wild turkeys and wild ginseng and loved to fish, especially small-mouth bass. He found his solace in the mountains - at least the way that he enjoyed them in his younger years before they were clearcut, burned and destroyed by man! He wanted to remember them the way that they used to be. There will be a private Memorial later on for his immediate family and buried at the family cemetery in Oriskany, VA. The family wishes to thank all the caring nurses on the 3rd floor west in the Lewis Gale Medical Center; also, the Carilion Home Health Care workers who cared for him at home and the Heartland Hospice Team who cared for him his last days at the Hospital God Bless You All!
