KAREN ANNETTE TAYLOR DAVIDSON

Surrounded by her family, Karen Taylor Davidson peacefully entered her eternal life with her Lord and Savior on November 29, 2025. Karen was born on October 20, 1951, in Roanoke VA but was a lifelong resident of New Castle VA. She is preceded in death by “her heart”, husband Clifford Davidson, her parents, Buford and Lorine Taylor, brother, B.L Taylor, Jr., and numerous other family members and special friends. Karen retired from the Craig County Sheriff’s Office where she was a dispatcher and personal cook for the deputies and other staff and had previously been a bus driver for Craig County Schools. Her passion in life was to share her love of God with others through her music ministry where she could sit at the piano or pick up a ukulele, guitar, maracas or tambourine to jazz up any song. She was very convincing and even had her family attempt to play the hand bells for the Christmas program at church. She taught and directed many years of Vacation Bible School at Mountain View Christian Church and New Castle Christian Church touching hearts and igniting faith in young people throughout the county. She was a devoted member of the Salem Choral Society for over 25 years. With her dynamic personality, infectious giggles and impressive dance moves, Karen lived each day full of life, love and laughter and tried her best to share that joy with all around her. She was always up for an adventure with her family and friends whether that be vacations, yard sales, craft shows, or marathon shopping trips. She was always sure to help others before herself and instilled those values in her family. Left to cherish many precious memories and try to carry on her legacy, are her three daughters which were her biggest joys, Lori (Chad) Wright, Kimberly (Kent) Rosenberger and Andrea (Jason) Pauley, grandchildren Tyler (Maddy) and Mackenzie Pauley, Austin and Avery (Daniel) Wright, Kayla, Gavin and Camden Rosenberger, great-grandchildren Weston Pauley and Haven Rosenberger, sisters Gloria (Thomas) Moran and Lora (John) Meador , sister in law, Barbara Atkins, plus many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, church family and friends and last but not least, the other two members of the Golden Girls, her amazing friends and partners in crime, Linda Stull and Betty Ring. Family will receive friends at Mountain View Christian Church in New Castle VA, on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 5-8 PM. Per Karen’s wishes, that there be “no sadness” after her triumphant homecoming with God and precious reunion with Clifford, a “happy” celebration of her life will take place on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 2 PM with Jonathan Lee officiating. Interment immediately following the service at Brickey Cemetery. Arrangements by Paitsel Funeral Home.
